This timely debut documentary by Alexa Bakony follows transgender teenager Tobi and his family in a small Hungarian village. His mother, Eva, is supportive of her son but battles against her own grief of ‘losing’ the daughter she had had and the immense transphobia both within their local community and the wider world.

dIRECTOR’S BIOGRAPHY
Alexa Bakony (she/her) studied documentary filmmaking at the University of Theatre and Film Arts Budapest (SZFE). The main focus of her films is on close relationships between loved ones and family members.

In an Eastern European town, a young gang leader is terrorizing his neighbourhood. He forces everyone to carry a brick as a sign of submission. One day, an adolescent humiliated by the tyrant decides to fight back.
